Chapter 1373

---

Sitting across from Nathan and Lucinda, he felt like a third wheel.
Nathan fed Lucinda with utmost tenderness and affection, as if Zakai didn’t even exist.
She felt a bit embarrassed.
On the seventh occasion that Nathan lifted food to Lucinda’s lips, she gently shook her head and muttered, “I’d better eat myself.”
Respecting her decision, Nathan didn’t insist. He put a spoon full of delicious food into his mouth and savored it.
Zakai saw the love they both shared.
Raising his glass, he toasted Nathan.

Nathan set down his spoon, lifted his wine glass, and reciprocated the gesture. They engaged in polite, formal conversation.

Lucinda, unable to drink, kept her head down, focusing on her meal.
Occasionally, she would ask Zakai what he thought about the taste of the dishes at Cadiered.
With their bellies full from the delicious meal, Nathan rose from his seat, eager to sweep Lucinda off her feet.
But Lucinda declined, asserting, “I’m still stuffed. I’d rather take a walk on my own.”
He grinned, playfully booped her nose, and replied, “Alright then.”
Their fingers intertwined as they walked side by side, making their way out of the room.
And all the while, Zakai silently observed.
Envy crept into his heart as he saw their deep affection for one another, and he genuinely wished them the best.
The three of them strolled down the restaurant’s aisle. Eventually, Zakai made the decision to slip away quietly, not wanting to intrude any further.
Meanwhile, at the corner of the corridor, a petite figure stood still.
As her captivating eyes fixated on Lucinda’s retreating figure, a trace of coldness gradually seeped into her gaze.
As they continued their walk, Lucinda couldn’t shake off an unsettling feeling, as if an unfriendly presence was casting a gaze upon her.
Abruptly, she came to a halt and turned around.
The long corridor stretched out before her, empty and void of any presence.
“What’s the matter?” Nathan asked, holding her hand tighter.
